1.0 Introduction
The Architecture Group is chartered to provide information
technology guidance in Computing Services and, in turn, the entire
university. This work is tightly related to Technology
Integration.
The architects are expected to be involved or aware of all efforts
in their specific areas so that they may share this information with
each other and thereby providing recommendations and opinions with the
best understanding of the overall situation.
Items of interest may include:
The following bboards will be used by the Architecture Group:
-
org.acs.architecture - Internal bboard for
communication and tracking.
-
org.acs.architecture.clippings - Divisionally readable
'news' bboard. These are things that come up that we believe have some
impact on the big picture. Items posted here should not be viewed as
endorsement of the technology unless explicitly stated. We encourage
people to subscribe and read this bboard.
-
org.acs.architecture.notes - Divisionally readable bboard
where we post the meetings minutes and notes. "Sensitive" data may be
removed from the meeting notes but it is likely that most notes are
posted near verbatim. We encourage people to subscribe and read this
bboard.
The notes bboard will contain the meeting notes from the
architecture group. It is a mechanism by which members of the division
can see what topics are being discussed and some of the general
thoughts.
This bboard acts as a supplement to the position papers and other
documents produced by the Architecture Group. It should be realized
that the notes posted may not reflect "final" decisions or may reflect
temporary ambivalence will be replaced later by a decision. This will
be a weak mechanism to track or reference decisions.
